With estimates from 30-40% of all food produced is wasted in the United States, waste remains a major concern regarding food supply chain. Time-to-market, limited shelf life, and transportation all present additional challenges to producers and distributors. The food industry has struggled to digitize their supply chains, and many companies are struggling to meet these regulatory and trading partner requirements in an efficient and effective manner. As recordkeeping requirements increase, this will continue to emphasize the need for fully digitized, standards-based supply chains.
